How our kits work

A printed fabric panel has the math, measuring and marking done for you, so you get straight to the sewing.

What's in a kit

Each kit is a specially printed panel of 100% cotton fabric. Some panels come with solid yardage for background or sashing. Printed on the fabric are cut lines and other features to help you through the traditional piecing process: some kits have lines to sew directly on, some have numbered seams like a paint-by-number kit, and others have alignment dots to help with what would otherwise be awkward angles.

  • Printed cut lines

Cut on the line. No measuring.

  • Numbered seams

Sew in order, like a paint-by-number.

  • Alignment dots

Awkward angles, lined up for you.

We're working on YouTube videos for each kit.

Custom colors for select kits (i.e. Lone Star)

  1. Add your kit to the cart. In Special instructions on the cart page, tell us the colors you'd like. Hex codes or Pantone colors are welcome.

  2. We'll mock up how the quilt might look (usually about 3 options) and email you the digital mockups. This is your last chance to make changes.

  3. Once you reply with your approval, we send it to print!

Questions we hear a lot

How much time do your methods really save me?

20–40% of your time and energy. Our product testers said they spent up to 2 hours choosing a pattern, buying fabric at the store, and measuring it out to cut. Our kits require none of that.

How long will a kit typically take?

Most people finish the smaller kits in 5–10 hours, and Postcards in 9–13 hours.

Quilting seems so intimidating, yet so aspirational. Is it as complex as it seems?

It doesn't have to be. Our kits have the math, the measuring and the alignment done for you. Pick a kit at your level and follow the visual instructions step by step. Not sure which kit fits? Contact us.

How much experience do I need?

Our quilts are designed for beginners to intermediate quilters. Each quilt has a recommended skill level in its description.

Confident Beginner

You’ve finished a quilt or two, you’re comfortable at your machine, and you’re ready for a project that teaches you something new.

  • You’ve made one or two simple quilts, like squares sewn into rows.
  • You sew a steady straight seam, and sewing clothes counts as practice.
  • You know where to turn when you’re stuck: a quilting friend, a class or a YouTube video.

Intermediate Quilter

You’ve finished five or more quilts, the basics feel automatic, and you’re ready for trickier piecing and a bigger project.

  • You’ve made quilts including blocks with triangles and points to match.
  • You hold an accurate ¼" seam and can square up, press and bind without looking it up.
  • You can follow a pattern on your own and fix a mistake when a block comes out wrong.
My last quilt didn't quite work out… Will this be different?

We hope so! And, since hope isn't a strategy, we work really hard to solve the core problems that derail most quilters (time, fabric supply, confusing text-only instructions, complicated math, piece alignment, miscutting, etc.). Choose a kit at your level (e.g. beginner, intermediate), then simply follow the visual instructions and watch it come together step by step. Contact us if you have questions about which kit is right for you. It comes right to us!

I don't have a dedicated space to sew, but I want to make a quilt! Help!

Pro tip: Use an ironing board to lay things out. Ziploc bags keep your pieces organized. Buy a foldable corrugated cardboard seamstress board to use on your bed.

Our smallest kits can be completed in a weekend.
